How to Burn an Aurea Nova Candle
Your candle is both an object and a ritual. To get the most from both:
Before You Light It
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. Place on a heat-safe surface or tray rated to at least 176°F (80°C). Keep away from drafts, flammables, children, and pets.
Your First Burn
Allow the wax to pool fully across the surface before extinguishing — usually 1 to 2 hours. This sets the memory of the candle and prevents tunneling.
Use a Tray
Sculptural candles burn differently than vessel candles. We strongly recommend burning yours on a ceramic, glass, or metal tray. This protects your surface from heat and captures the natural reshaping process.
As It Burns
Sculptural candles change form as they burn. This is intentional. Your candle will reshape itself with use — a record of its time with you.
Never Leave a Candle Unattended
Always extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep. Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains.
About the Wax
We use a premium soy-paraffin blend, engineered specifically for sculptural candles. Pure soy wax cannot hold the detail of these forms. Our blend gives you the clean burn benefits of soy with the structural integrity these designs require.
Display or Burn
Many Aurea Nova candles are kept as objects, never lit. Others are burned slowly over months. Either choice is correct.
